Enterprise Technology is the Technology organisation responsible for the design, build and ongoing maintenance of the systems owned by the Group Functions (Risk, Compliance, Finance, Core Banking, Corporate Functions and Deputy COO). The organisation consists of over 8,000 people working in collaboration across 14 countries, to support over 3,000 applications.
As a Junior DevOps Engineer you will be working in Foundations Technology - Cross Functions Common Components supporting internal customers who have a presence on Cloud.
In this role you will:
Work within an Agile POD of Cloud DevOps Engineers, collaborating with the development and operations teams to automate the deployment of applications to multiple environments.
Build common, re-useable deployment pipelines, which support the deployment of common services to multiple consumers across Finance IT.
Deliver innovative technical solutions to drive best in class automated CI/CD pipelines, using the latest industry tooling such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Helm, Skaffold.
Deliver innovative technical solutions to deploy Cloud infrastructure such as Docker, Kubernetes, Compute Engine, Composer along with infrastructure to support API services.
Design and engineer software with the customer/user experience as a key objective.
Build tooling using languages such as Python & GoLang.
Work with deployment products such as GitHub, Jenkins, Nexus, Ansible and Terraform.
Work with Google Cloud Products such as Cloud Storage, Big Query, Cloud Logging, IAM, Pub/Sub, Kubernetes, Cloud Build & Composer.
Receive mentoring and training from other DevOps Engineers within the team.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
Proven hands-on experience using Python and/or GoLang
Have a passion for technology - this represents a great opportunity to broaden experience and gain new skills, it really helps if the candidate has a genuine interest for the technology
Experience and/or knowledge of industry standard deployment products such as GitHub, Jenkins, Nexus, Ansible and Terraform.
Have exposure to cloud technologies and concepts.
Holistic & persistent problem solver.
Self-driven with the ability to work independently, progressing parallel pieces of development at any one time.
This role is based in Sheffield and offer hybrid working.
