Oracle Time, the UK's leading luxury watch magazine and news platform, is hiring a full-time Editorial Assistant to support the day-to-day running of our print and digital editorial output. This early-career role blends admin, contributor coordination, and research with regular hands-on writing for both print and online.
Working closely with our Managing Editor, Editor-at-Large and Digital Editor, you'll help keep our 10-issue-a-year magazine running smoothly while contributing to the website and social channels on a daily basis.
What you'll do
Editorial Coordination & Admin
Support the planning and scheduling of each issue, from flatplans to final checks.
Liaise with contributors: help to commission pieces, confirm briefs, chase copy, and manage budget trackers.
Request, track, and organise high-quality images and assets from brands, PRs, and photographers.
Help maintain editorial calendars and documents essential to issue production.
Help manage photoshoot assets, liaising with brands regarding calling in watches and other assets.
Daily Writing & Content Creation
Write short features, brand focuses, listicles, and supporting content for print.
Help produce daily digital articles for the website when needed.
Write clean, concise social captions and news-style updates for Instagram and other platforms.
Assist with scripting short-form video/VO content when required.
Research & Editing Support
Conduct research for features, trend pieces, buyer's guides, and special projects.
Proofread print and digital content, ensuring consistency with house style.
Cross-Team Collaboration
Work with the design team to provide assets, clarify layouts, and keep pages moving through production.
Support commercial content by coordinating deliverables, assets, and deadlines with the advertising team.
Potentially upload, format, and proof content on WordPress.
Industry Relations
Build and maintain positive relationships with PRs, watch brands, contributors, and partners.
Occasionally represent Oracle Time at press appointments, launches, or reader events.
What you'll bring
1-2 years' experience in editorial, publishing, lifestyle media, or a related field (internships included and experience not essential).
Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to managing deadlines.
Confident, adaptable writing skills suited to both print features and quick, news-led digital posts.
A professional, friendly communication style when dealing with contributors, PRs, and clients.
Familiarity with WordPress and Microsoft Office/Teams.
Interest in watches, luxury, or lifestyle publishing (experience helpful but not required).
