This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing ESG team within Bridgehead, contributing to the delivery of Munnelly Group's Carbon Reduction and Net Zero Strategy. You'll play a key role in driving our sustainability initiatives forward, supporting the Group's long-term commitment to responsible and low-carbon growth.

ROLE SPECIFICATION:



The Junior Environmental Advisor will work as part of the SHEQ team, primarily supporting the day-to-day delivery of the Group's environmental and sustainability objectives.
You'll help collect and analyse environmental data, support site audits, and assist in the rollout of environmental initiatives across all business units.

This role is ideal for someone early in their career who wants to build hands-on experience in sustainability, ESG reporting, and environmental compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:



Environmental Data & Reporting



Support collection and analysis of energy, fuel, waste, and carbon data across all Group companies. Assist in compiling monthly and quarterly environmental performance reports. Contribute to the creation of baseline data to support the Group's Carbon Reduction Plan. Help maintain records for SBTi and Net Zero commitments.

Compliance & Monitoring



Assist in environmental audits and inspections on sites and offices. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, client standards, and ISO 14001 requirements. Support development of environmental management documentation (policies, procedures, site checklists).

Engagement & Awareness



Work alongside ESG Champions to coordinate internal campaigns and awareness activities. Support delivery of Carbon Literacy Training and environmental toolbox talks. Contribute content for internal communications on sustainability and ESG progress.

Project & Client Support



Assist project teams with waste tracking, fuel monitoring, and sustainable procurement initiatives. Support client sustainability reporting where required (e.g., BAM, BREEAM, or Considerate Constructors Scheme). Liaise with suppliers to gather sustainability information and promote best practices.

Continuous Improvement



Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and promote circular economy principles. Keep up to date with environmental best practice and industry trends.

Administrative Support to SHEQ Team



Organising documentation for SHEQ related audits Conducting research into technologies, materials and methods

Duties



Conduct environmental assessments and audits to evaluate compliance with regulations. Prepare detailed reports and documentation for clients, outlining findings and recommendations. Collaborate with project teams to develop strategies for minimising environmental impact during construction and development projects. Utilise software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, ArcGIS, and CAD to create plans and models. Manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring timely delivery of services. Provide technical support and guidance on mechanical knowledge related to environmental systems. Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to communicate project progress and address concerns.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications



Essential:



Degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Geography, or related discipline. 0-3 years' experience in an environmental or sustainability-related role (internship, placement, or junior position). Strong analytical and organisational skills, with attention to detail. Confident using Excel or data management tools for environmental reporting. Excellent communication skills -- able to work with site teams, suppliers, and office staff. Passion for sustainability and continuous learning.

Desirable:



Knowledge of carbon accounting, waste management, or ISO 14001. Understanding of Scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions and Net Zero principles. Awareness of construction environmental practices or supply chain sustainability. Membership (or working towards) IEMA or similar professional body. Full UK driving licence (preferred)

Pay: 27,000.00-33,000.00 per year
