Role Description:
Reporting to the Senior Financial Reporting Manager, this role suits someone who wishes to start their career in accounting and study towards a professional accountancy qualification within a fast-paced environment and to monthly deadlines. Cabot is US owned and is therefore subject to Sarbanes Oxley
compliance reporting. High level of attention to detail is also a key requisite as the role involves processing bank payments on a daily basis. It also suits someone with excellent excel literacy, good communication skills and a desire to train towards AAT qualification under apprenticeship scheme.
Job Purpose
a) Preparation of payments and arranging for the appropriate banking approvals by the business.
b)To be responsible for all bank administration including managing user access on all banking platforms as applicable.
c)To assist in ensuring the financial books of Cabot UKDP reflect a complete and reconciled record of business activity and maintain the evidence to demonstrate this.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Raise payments and refunds ensuring necessary authorisation and controls are adhered to. Assisting with bank admin duties around user access set up and reviews. Involvement in treasury (ABL Accounting) and banking projects as advised to improve efficiencies within cash management and related processes. Creating accounting for external third parties (coinventors and contingencies) Supporting divisional month end close to tight Group deadlines. Including posting journals into our general ledger system, Workday. Monthly balance sheet reconciliations for allocated accounts after the month close, supported with good quality substantiation. To prepare and improve working papers to support the periodic audit requirements and to be responsible for providing evidence for quarterly Sarbanes Oxley audits. * Liaise with external auditors or reviewers as required to ensure the efficient and timely completion of their queries.
