Junior Kennel Assistant
Job Description
An exciting opportunity for a junior kennel assistant to join our small team at The Dog House. Suited for 16-18 year old.
We are a 5 star boarding kennels, based between Filby and Ormesby, providing canine accommodation for both day care and longer overnight stays.
You will be working alongside a senior kennel assistant. Your responsibilities will include:
Feeding dogs to owners specifications;
Exercising dogs both on and off lead, and in group exercises;
Picking up dog waste;
Monitoring and recording dogs health, behaviour, activities and toilet habits. Reporting any changes or concerns to supervisors;
Cleaning kennels, exercise runs and common areas.
You will be expected to work evenings and weekends. Evening shifts start at 4:30pm. Morning shifts start at 7:30am. Shifts are approximately 2.5 - 3.5 hours, depending on occupancy levels. Extra shifts will be available for sickness/holiday.
Please note you will be working outside for most of your shift, all year round.
You must be comfortable handling dogs of all sizes, breeds and ages independently. Experience of walking or owning dogs is an advantage.
