Imperium Commodity Search is working with a small-mid sized physical commodity trading house with established desks across the metals space and growing in other physical commodity flows. To facilitate their continued front office growth they are seeking a logistics and operations executive to managing physical flows, third party logistics and smooth operations for the trading team.
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist trading team in ensuring smooth operations and logistics processes across the metal trade
• Build and maintain relationships with third party suppliers and logistics partners across shipping and port businesses
• Ensure customer queries are answered efficiently and logistics/operational issues in metals trading are handled accurately and in good time
• Work with senior management on operational improvements and efficiencies
• Follow up with shipping and logistics partners on issues, insurances and availability
• Provide ad-hoc operational support to the metal trading team where required

Requirements:

• Some experience in an operations or logistics position within a commodity or metals trading house highly beneficial
• Degree educated/similar years experience in a logistics or operations role with a commodity business
• Good understanding of logistics operations, shipping and containerised logistics
• Able to work in a fast paced trading environment with front office back to back traders
• Experience in dealing with third party logistics providers
• Located in London/ability to commute to North London
