The Company
Our client design and manufactures highly bespoke fabricated mechanical systems for a wide range of sectors including general industrial manufacturing as well as the metals and chemicals manufacturing sectors.
The business has been trading for over 70 years and has a great reputation in their industry known for the quality of their products and the service they provide for their customers.
The business carries out a wide range of fabrication on their shop floor including welding, press brake work and CNC Plasma Processing allow them to make their products bespoke for their customers tailoring them to the exact solutions the customer needs.
The business has new leadership in place, and the new senior team have ambitious plans to grow the business and update systems across the business to support this future growth.
The business is now looking to recruit a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer as part of their succession planning with immediate effect. This will be a great opportunity to learn from and be mentored by a vastly experienced team with opportunities to develop into senior roles in the business in the future.
The Role
The role of Junior Mechanical Design Engineer will be in a great position to learn from two senior members of the team who both have decades of experience in the sector. You will also have the opportunity to take on further responsibility in the future as your role grows as part of the companies succession planning.
Key responsibilities for the Junior Mechanical Design Engineer will be:

• Using AutoCAD to produce manufacturing drawings for manufactured components
• Key components include Filters, Ducting, Fans, Impellers and Panels for equipment
• Using AutoCAD to produce equipment layout for customer sites
• Visiting customers with the senior mechanical design engineer to carry out site surveys
• Carrying out calculations for air flow, air volume, pressure drops and sizing of equipment

The Candidate
To be successful in your application for this Junior Mechanical Design Engineer role you will need:

• Experience in the use of AutoCAD 2D
• To be willing to learn and take on new ideas
• Strong attention to detail
• A supporting engineering qualification
• Some experience in mechanical design for manufacture for sheet metal or fabrication processes
