Junior Mechanical Design Engineer
240-260 per day / 30-32.50 per hour (DOE)
Contract: Temp-Perm (initial 3-month temporary period)
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established building services contractor based in Shepperton.
This is a fantastic role for someone with a solid foundation in AutoCAD and Hevacomp, looking to develop hands-on experience in a busy office that delivers a wide range of HVAC and mechanical services projects across the South East.
You'll be joining a supportive design team, working closely with experienced engineers to produce drawings, calculations, and technical documentation for live projects.
As a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be:
- Producing detailed 2D mechanical layout drawings using AutoCAD.
- Using Hevacomp software to carry out heating and cooling gains and losses calculations.
- Preparing and reviewing technical submittals and design documentation.
- Completing ductwork and pipework loss calculations with guidance from senior engineers.
- Supporting project delivery from concept through to completion.
- Experience using AutoCAD (2D) and Hevacomp. You will be expected to hit the ground running.
- Knowledge of mechanical building services design principles.
- The ability to prepare accurate and well-presented technical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.
