Junior Mobile Application Developer

Job Description

As a Junior Mobile App Developer, you'll work on exciting projects and team up with experienced developers to create innovative mobile applications. You will collaborate closely with the Mobile Application Developer to build new features, improve existing ones, and maintain the mobile architecture, ensuring my client's apps stay current with the latest functionalities:

Assist in developing mobile apps under the guidance of the Mobile Application Developer, ensuring features meet specifications and quality standards. Support the maintenance of existing apps by investigating and fixing basic bugs or issues reported by customer care. Participate in functional and user testing, including regression and exploratory testing. Collaborate during internal demos of features and improvements to gather feedback and enhance communication skills. Contribute to development tasks throughout the software development lifecycle, from design to deployment. Learn and apply best practices in automated testing and Continuous Integration as part of the team's process. Work with the backend team to implement new functionality. Help deliver polished user experiences by working with UI/UX designers and following their designs. Join code reviews to learn from others and give feedback on simple code changes. Regularly review and improve processes affecting your team or company through retrospectives. Gain understanding of emerging mobile technologies and suggest feature improvements under supervision.

To qualify, you have:



Commercial experience developing mobile apps using Flutter and Dart, with a growing understanding of best practices in state management, UI building, and performance optimization

OR

Exposure to native mobile development on Android (Kotlin/Java) or iOS (Swift/Objective-C), with the ability to navigate platform-specific capabilities when needed.Hands-on experience with app deployment processes, including use of Google Play Console and/or App Store Connect / TestFlight.Competence with Git-based version control workflows, ideally with some familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or similar is advantageous).

Plus:

Demonstrated interest in building mobile apps, with examples of coursework, personal projects, or internships. Understanding basic software testing principles, and eagerness to learn automated and manual testing practices. Organised and methodical, with openness to task planning and time management coaching. Proven ability to work collaboratively within a development team, participating in stand-ups, code reviews, and planning sessions. Ability to take direction and work independently on tasks, with support and guidance from more experienced team members.
