Junior Project Manager

Manchester, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Are you ready to take the next step in your project management career and gain exposure to meaningful, business-wide change? At Convergence Group, we're on a mission to make business connectivity as simple and reliable as the fourth utility. For over 20 years, our success has been built on resilience, continuous improvement, and a genuine commitment to an exceptional customer experience.

We're entering an exciting phase of growth and are looking for a Junior Project Manager to join our team. You'll play a key part in coordinating activities for initiatives such as integrating acquired businesses, consolidating systems, and harmonising processes - helping us deliver seamless change and real impact across the business.

What you'll be doing as our Junior Project Manager

Keep projects moving:

Keep project plans up to date, make sure timelines and milestones stay on track, manage resources, and flag any risks before they turn into problems.

Document like a pro:

Own the essentials - PID, SoW, RAID logs, status and Steerco reports - collect updates from teams, and pull together clear packs, minutes, and actions.

Governance & compliance:

Support key meetings, keep documentation tidy and audit-ready, and help track budgets without breaking a sweat.

Stakeholder engagement & change:

Share updates that people actually understand, help teams adopt new processes and systems, and build strong working relationships along the way.

Drive Continuous improvement:

Spot what could work better, capture lessons learned, and suggest ideas to improve how we deliver projects.

Tools you will use:

Monday.com for plans and reporting, plus Excel for data and budgeting. Project management methodologies include Prince2, Waterfall and Agile.

Your experience and background

3+ years' experience in project support or project coordination, ideally within IT, Telecoms or a related environment. Exposure to projects involving people, systems, data, or processes, and a willingness to learn integration best practices. Ability to maintain governance documentation, RAID logs and action trackers accurately. Awareness of risk management, compliance requirements (including GDPR) and contractual obligations. Familiarity with systems and data activities such as CRM, ERP/Finance, billing or HR platforms is beneficial. Proficiency in MS Office and experience (or willingness to learn) project management tools like Monday.com, Asana, or similar platforms. An interest in developing formal project management skills - certifications such as Prince2 Foundation or Agile Awareness are advantageous.

What you'll get - real rewards for real impact:

Salary:

35-45,000

Time off:

33 days holiday, including bank holidays (and yes, it only gets better).

Benefits:

Private Medical, enhanced Pension, Income Protection & Life Assurance.

Work-life balance:

flexible core hours + hybrid working with 3 days a week in the Manchester or Solihull office.

Dog friendly office
