Job Purpose



We are seeking a

Junior Quality Engineer

to assist the QHSE and manufacturing teams in the maintenance of our high standards, whilst developing the skills and experience required to progress to a Quality Engineer. The role is instrumental in the daily quality assurance activities and overall business performance in the context of standards, output and scrap/wastage.

Main Duties and Responsibilities



Operational

Ensure that the requirements of the QMS are maintained and communicated effectively throughout the business.

Conduct routine inspections and testing of products and components.

Document and report quality issues, test results and non-conformances.

Support internal and external audit activity.

Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes.

Support continuous improvement initiatives across production and engineering.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality concerns.

Maintain accurate records of quality control activities.

Support the Head of Quality with supplier quality assurance activities.

Provide technical customer support in relation to queries and returns.

Maintenance and analysis of all Quality KPI's.

Review of existing procedures, work instructions and control plans for clarity of purpose, scope and desired result, ease of interpretation and applicability with the objective of eliminating error - fool proofing and minimising inconsistencies.

Promotion of a positive Quality culture.

General

Management and maintenance of relevant documentation in line with the business needs.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers.

Work collaboratively across departments to achieved shared objectives.

Ensure compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and all other governing/legal requirements.

Knowledge and Skills

A working knowledge of ISO9001 and automotive core tools.

A qualification in either mechanical or electrical Engineering.

Knowledge and experience of continuous improvement and lean principles techniques.

Good problem-solving and data mining skills.

Good interpersonal skills and persistent in the pursuit of excellence.

Experience of working in a team to achieve overarching output.

Experience of following procedures within time limits.

Sound level of Microsoft Office literacy.

Good organisational and time management skills.

Excellent attention to detail.

Ability to achieve personal objectives and completion of identified training.

Commitment to continuous professional development.

Knowledge and experience of internal auditing.

Knowledge of statistical analysis and quality control tools.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Understanding of manufacturing processes and the impact of continuous improvement.
