Deliver and maintain a high standard of patient focused care in accordance with Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust guidelines and policies. Work within frequently challenging clinical environments with high levels of physical and mental effort. Have knowledge of pathophysiology, anatomy and physiology in order to assess, plan, implement and evaluate treatment of the deteriorating adult. Demonstrate clinical competence and confidence in caring for the deteriorating/acutely ill adult.
Work with indirect supervision, taking responsibility for own decision making and when further clinical input and advice is needed or when care and treatment goes beyond scope of professional practice escalates appropriately. Respect patients and relatives rights to participate in decisions about their care. Communicate highly sensitive information to the patient and their relatives/carers, showing empathy and providing psychological support. Maintain clinical records in accordance with the most up to date NMC and trust guidance Act as a clinical role model which reflects the philosophy, beliefs and clinical standards of the Adult Resuscitation services Assist Resuscitation Officers with implementation of any equipment changes required for the resuscitation trolleys and maintain familiarity with all equipment.
Manage cleaning, maintenance and storage of resuscitation training equipment, ensuring the equipment is appropriately stocked, checked and available for use. Contribute to the implementation of resuscitation and deteriorating patient policy throughout the Trust and recognise potential areas for service improvement which may involve suggestions received from staff that should be promptly referred to the Resuscitation Officers. Carry the crash bleep and respond to 2222 calls as required.
