Job Description

RP Meats are a Brighton based meat wholesaler supplying retail butchers, catering butchers, and farm shops across the South of England and the Channel Islands. We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Junior Salesperson to join our team and learn all aspects of sales within the meat industry.

This role is ideal for someone with an interest in food, meat, or sales who is keen to build a long term career in the meat trade. Full training will be provided, including product knowledge, customer service, and sales techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the sales team in managing existing customer accounts Learn to promote and sell a full range of products Assist with customer enquiries, pricing, and order processing Accompany senior sales staff on customer visits to build industry knowledge Develop an understanding of meat cuts, specifications, and customer requirements Build positive relationships with customers through regular communication Maintain accurate records of sales activity and customer information Build a customer base as experience grows

Skills & Personal Qualities:

Strong interest in sales, food, or the meat industry Good communication and interpersonal skills Willingness to learn and take direction Reliable, organised, and professional in approach Confident telephone manner Ability to work as part of a team and independently Full UK driving license.

Desirable (But Not Essential):

Previous experience in food, retail, hospitality, or wholesale Basic knowledge of meat or butchery IT skills (email, order systems, CRM)

Training & Development:

Full training in meat products, cuts, and specifications On the job sales training and mentoring from experienced team members Gradual progression into a full sales role Opportunity for long term career development within the business
