Imperium Commodity Search is exclusively retained by an established options brokerage in London with aggressive growth plans on their soft commodity and agricultural derivatives broker desk. With an experienced and established team in soft commodities, there is growth potential across coffee, cocoa, cotton, sugar, grains and oilseeds with a growing client book and market-leading access to lines across a multitude of corporate and institutional clients.
As a result of acquisitions and back/middle office growth, the firm is well position to capitalise by bringing onboard talented junior brokers with a desire to grow a book quickly with excellent back office support. This opportunity suits a broker with 1-3 years experience in the softs or agricultural markets who is frustrated with a lack of market access/open lines or autonomy in their role. Our client has access to a huge number of clients and can trade immediately with most major trading houses, funds, banks and corporates.
Responsibilities:

• Work with the experienced agricultural team on execution and client servicing whilst building out a client base through business development and sales initiatives
• Manage relationships with key clients in the soft commodity and agricultural trading space (coffee, cocoa, sugar, grains, oilseeds, edible oils etc.) and ensure timely and accurate execution of option & derivative trades
• Produce market commentary and analysis for distribution to clients for business development and customer service purposes whilst ensuring you are up to date with market movements, supply and demand and price pressures to offer best-in-class options execution services to soft and agri commodity clients
• Assist senior desk head with ad-hoc tasks to ensure fluidity on the desk across all client types and execution responsibilities
• Assist with back office and trade administration where required to support high flows on the soft commodity brokerage desk
• Consistently provide high level customer service to all stakeholders to ensure repeat business and build trust with trading participants in the agri space
• On occasion, attend and contribute to industry conferences and networking events for business development purposes; displaying the best of the brand and demonstrating the firms ability in the soft commodity and agriculture trading/brokerage space

Experience:

• 1-3 years' experience in a brokerage, IDB, FCM or similar covering soft commodities or agricultural products (cocoa, coffee, sugar, cotton, grains, oilseeds, edible oils, palm, biodiesel etc.)
• Knowledge of derivatives contracts (futures, swaps, options) with options experience preferred but not essential
• Good understanding of soft commodity and agricultural supply and demand metrics including what drives market movements and price dips/spikes
• Excellent customer servicing ability with a timely and efficient manner in execution and brokerage tasks
• Good knowledge of the relevant listed exchanges for softs and ags trading/brokerage and execution (ICE, CME, CBOT, MATIF etc.)
• Desire to grow a personal book of business whilst learning from experienced heads in the business
• Located in London (or willing to relocate)
