high aptitude for software development and a desire to learn the ins-and-outs of existing products, in order to support them
. Experience in both customer support and software development, within the I.T. industry, is required.
This is a
desktop
software-based role and will require cross training to our core database language.
Skills / Attributes Required
Must have at least two years experience, or a degree in a related field (both preferable).
Must be comfortable working in a fast moving, evolving and dynamic environment.
Experience with client facing support is desirable, but not essential.
Desire to learn and explore software systems, to develop and support them.
Experience of working with databases.
Professional approach to work.
Main Development Duties / Responsibilities
The chosen applicant will be part of the software engineering team, taking projects from specification to testing, and applying their skills to the following:
Developing Internal & External Applications
Updating existing systems i.e. New Features
Bug Fixing
Contribute new ideas and concepts
Follow coding standards
Follow test procedures
Contribute towards achieving the aims of the whole business
Main Support Duties / Responsibilities
The chosen candidate will be required to provide client facing support for software products and services, so the following skills are essential:
Enthusiasm to learn software products from a user and engineer perspective.
Effectively communicate aspects of software systems to clients.
Determination to see client needs fulfilled in a professional, timely manner.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Support the testing team as needed.
This is
not
a remote working position, and the successful candidate will be required to work on-site at our Stockport office.
