, with a strong eye for detail and an interest in the international aspects of legal work.
You will combine legal responsibilities with the day-to-day running of our busy office, ensuring clients receive an exceptional standard of service.
Key Responsibilities
Legal & Advisory Work
Advise clients on UK and international document legalisation, including
Hague Apostille
and
consular legalisation
procedures.
Prepare, review and verify legal documents to ensure compliance with UK and international requirements.
Certify Documents.
Support notarial services, liaising with our notaries and ensuring legal standards are maintained.
Keep up to date with relevant legalisation requirements.
Office & Client Support
Update and maintain internal systems and case management records accurately.
Review and process incoming paperwork and correspondence with meticulous attention to detail.
Communicate with clients, translators, notaries, and external bodies such as the
Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO)
and foreign embassies.
Assist with customer service duties, including answering calls, responding to emails, and greeting visitors.
Organise and track the progress of documents and courier deliveries.
Undertake ad hoc administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of the office.
Areas of Law Relevant to the Role
This role provides exposure to several areas of legal practice, including:
Private International Law / Conflict of Laws
- recognition and use of UK documents abroad.
Notarial Practice
Partners
- preparation of documents for our notarial partners to notarise documents for international use.
Immigration and Nationality Law
- documentation required for visas, citizenship, and residency applications abroad.
Commercial & Corporate Law
- legalisation of company documents such as powers of attorney, certification of Companies House documents, contracts and more.
Family Law (international elements)
- legalisation of documents for marriage, adoption, court procedure or overseas estate matters.
Requirements
Qualified Solicitor of England and Wales
(newly qualified applicants welcome).
Excellent written and spoken English, with outstanding attention to detail.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of a foreign language is an advantage!
Confident communicator, able to liaise professionally with clients, government offices and foreign authorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
The position is entirely office-based. We are
not offering remote or hybrid working
for this role.
