We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring that high standards of food preparation and presentation are maintained. This position requires a strong understanding of food safety practices and the ability to lead and manage a team effectively within a fast-paced environment.
Duties
Assist in the preparation and production of high-quality dishes, ensuring consistency and adherence to recipes.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow and high standards of food quality.
Help manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste through effective food production practices.
Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment by adhering to food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings based on seasonal ingredients and customer feedback.
Train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, food safety protocols, and kitchen operations.
Assist in scheduling staff shifts to ensure adequate coverage during busy periods.
Requirements
Proven experience in food preparation and culinary arts, with a strong understanding of various cooking techniques.
Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in team management within a hospitality setting.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for maintaining kitchen hygiene.
Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
A passion for culinary excellence and a desire to continually learn and grow within the industry.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
