We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation, while fostering a positive and efficient working environment. This position requires strong leadership abilities, independent as well as adaptive and a commitment to food safety and quality.
Duties
Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring all dishes are prepared to the highest standard.
Supervise and train kitchen staff, promoting teamwork and effective communication among team members.
Help in the planning and execution of menus, taking into consideration seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.
Participate in food preparation and production, demonstrating culinary techniques to junior staff.
Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimise waste.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen management.
Excellent cooking skills with a passion for food preparation and presentation.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong organisational skills with the capability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
