Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Junior Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts and experience in food production, along with the ability to lead and manage a team effectively. As a Junior Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation while supporting the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations and managing staff. Supervise food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality and consistency. Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques and food safety practices. Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and minimise waste. Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of presentation and taste. Handle any customer feedback or concerns regarding food quality or service.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Junior Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant environment. Strong culinary skills with a solid understanding of food preparation techniques. Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in team management. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. A passion for hospitality and commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. Previous experience supervising kitchen staff is highly desirable.
