Job Description

Plaquemine Lock is an English gastropub on Regent's Canal in Angel, Islington - serving up the bold, smoky, soulful flavours of Louisiana.

Our menu blends Cajun and Creole classics with British produce, all cooked to a high standard in a laid-back, music-filled setting. We are a food-focused business owned by Jacob Kenedy (Bocca di Lupo) and run by our former head chef and have consistently won a Bib Gourmand since 2018. We make everything we can - from bread to sausages to mustard.

Key Job Responsibilities

Includes all responsibilities for Commis Chef and Chef de Partie plus the following Trains kitchen on management and supervision Places orders as per daily needs of the business within agreed timeframe Carries out daily delivery checks. Resolves all delivery issues in time for service Schedules food preparation duties for the kitchen team Resolves all kitchen maintenance issues or reports to the Head Chef for resolution

Health Safety & Security Responsibilities

Food Safety Level 2 Daily Food Safety data recording Demonstrates an understanding and awareness of all policies and procedures relating to Health and Safety, Food Safety and Fire Safety Is familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures Ensures all accidents and near misses are always logged in a timely manner and brought to the attention of the Floor Manager Reports anything considered a health and safety hazard Ensures safety and hygiene standards are met
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From 16.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 35 per week
