Duties
Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and staff management.
Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to the restaurant's menu specifications.
Ensure all food safety protocols are strictly adhered to, maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training as needed to enhance their culinary skills.
Assist with menu planning, including seasonal specials and new dish development.
Monitor inventory levels, assisting with ordering supplies to ensure the kitchen is well-stocked.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery during busy periods.
Help maintain equipment and kitchen tools, ensuring they are clean, functional, and safe to use.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role within a restaurant environment.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation.
Excellent culinary skills with a passion for creating innovative dishes.
Ability to manage a team effectively while fostering a positive work environment.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and service.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with team members.
