We are seeking a skilled and passionate Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team in a 2 AA Rosette kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management, demonstrating exceptional leadership and culinary skills. As a Junior Sous , you will assist in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety while fostering a positive team environment.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, ensuring efficient food preparation and service.
Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative cooking techniques.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
Train and mentor kitchen staff, promoting teamwork and professional growth within the team.
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ensuring consistency in presentation and flavour.
Collaborate with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
Monitor food production processes to ensure quality control and adherence to recipes.
Assist in maintaining kitchen equipment, ensuring it is clean, safe, and in good working order.
Requirements
Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
Strong culinary skills with a solid understanding of classical food preparation techniques.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.
