Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Junior Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities and a deep understanding of food production and preparation within a restaurant setting. As a Junior Sous Chef, you will assist in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation while fostering a collaborative environment among the culinary team.
Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and food production.
Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
Help in the preparation of meals, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest quality.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings.
Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies as needed to ensure smooth operations.
Assist in scheduling staff shifts to maintain efficient kitchen workflow.
Monitor food quality during preparation and service, making adjustments as necessary.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Junior Sous Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
Comprehensive knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary best practices.
Excellent organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
Strong communication skills to facilitate teamwork within the kitchen.
