Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate J. Sous Chef/ experianced Senior CDP to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality and food preparation, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality. As a Junior Sous Chef, you will assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food production, and delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
Duties
Assist in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes in accordance with the restaurant's menu and standards.
Help manage kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations.
Oversee food safety practices, ensuring compliance with health regulations and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen.
Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes.
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist in ordering as necessary.
Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and kitchen procedures.
Participate in food production during peak service times, ensuring timely delivery of meals.
Maintain an organised kitchen environment that fosters teamwork and efficiency.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Senior CDP/ Junior Sous Chef in a restaurant or similar hospitality setting.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in culinary environments.
Excellent culinary skills with a passion for food production and presentation.
Ability to manage a team effectively while fostering a collaborative atmosphere.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of kitchen operations.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
A culinary qualification or relevant training is desirable but not essential.
