Job Summary


We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Technical Engineer to join our dynamic team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to kick-start their career in engineering and technology. Working as part of an established technical team the successful applicant will be enthusiastic and passionate, possess a hunger to learn & develop new skills and demonstrate clear & confident communication. The ideal candidate will be working towards or have recently achieved a degree level qualification in an appropriate engineering discipline (structural, mechanical, civil etc), and will receive on-the-job coaching & mentoring to progress towards the role of Technical Engineer. Training in the use of software packages such as Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Revit and Tekla TEDDS will also be provided internally.

Under the supervision of the Technical Manager the Junior Technical Engineer will be enrolled upon a strategic Employee Development Plan (EDP), specifically tailored to promote personal competence for future progression within the technical team and/or group of companies.

Key Responsibilities:



The development of long standing relationships with architects, main contractors, and roofing contractors as you assist in the delivery of construction projects from conceptual design, through to tender, installation and completion

The production of design concepts, supporting sketches and detailed technical drawings for CABP systems & components

Conduct wind / snow load calculations to current European standards and provide advice & recommendations in line with the requirements of CA Group building envelope systems

Conduct project specific gravity drainage calculations and thermal analysis (u-value, psi-value & chi-value)

Use in-house management systems and computer software packages to provide technical support to external customers, specifiers and internal departments Generate new and update existing technical documentation such as specification, detail & component drawings, Technical Information Papers (TIPs), installation guides and product renders

Become proficient and technically competent in all aspects of departmental responsibilities, including;

The interpretation of technical drawings and specifications

Engineering drawings, part assemblies and structural calculations using Finite Element Analysis

Understanding current and developing new methods of construction and manufacturing processes

Supporting the development of existing and new product lines, including innovation in new markets, materials and supply chain partners

Knowledge of current and previous Building Regulation requirements (Part L, Approved Document B etc)

Support the technical team in the installation and testing of systems and components in accordance with project constraints and regulatory requirements

Any other activities deemed necessary by the Technical Manager

Knowledge, skills and experience



Working towards or recently achieved a relevant engineering degree level qualification (structural, mechanical, civil etc)

Self-motivated with an ambition to succeed and progress within a rewarding career

The ability to work as part of a team and to prioritise workload to meet deadlines

Good communication literacy, numeracy and organisational skills

Proficient IT skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc)
