Job Description

Junior Visual Producer

Position: Permanent/Full Time

Location: The i Paper Headquarters, HSK, London, W8 5HY

About the role

The i Paper is seeking a Junior Visuals Producer to join its newly formed Visuals team working across digital, social platforms and print.

Working within our visuals team, you will support the sourcing, organisation and delivery of high-quality imagery across web, mobile, print and social platforms.

This role is ideal for someone starting out in visual/picture journalism, who has a sharp eye for imagery, an understanding of digital platforms and a curiosity about how visuals drive audience engagement.

The i Paper is Britain's youngest national news publisher - and one of the most trusted. We have a unique mission: publishing impartial news and intelligent opinion. With a strong digital subscriber audience and a healthy print circulation, The i Paper has also grown digital reach to more than 8m people a month. Growing in influence and profitable, The i Paper is the UK's 2025 News Website of the Year (Press Awards) and 2024 Newspaper of the Year (Newspaper Awards). We pride ourselves on having a dynamic, collegiate work environment that celebrates creativity, innovation and success

Main Responsibilities

Source and select images from wires, archives and agencies to meet content needs across digital platforms (including social channels) and print. Ensure all images are rights-cleared, credited and captioned correctly. Assist with image planning for a range of desks - travel, lifestyle and culture prominent among them - including galleries, longform stories, and section specials. Support the archiving and organisation of visuals, tagging and filing for future use. Work closely with section editors to deliver timely, relevant imagery. Prepare images for platform use, ensuring they meet basic technical requirements (orientation, resolution, metadata). Maintain awareness of visual tone and brand standards, ensuring consistency across lifestyle and travel output. Monitor wires for breaking news (as directed by the team leader, but with a particular focus on travel, culture and lifestyle desks), flagging visual opportunities quickly to editors. Support colleagues in the visuals team with ad-hoc requests and broader newsroom needs when required. Be curious to learn visual storytelling and production techniques, and new technical skills, to help develop our visuals operation and your own career.

Desirable

Experience working with wire photo services or DAM systems (e.g., Reuters Connect, Getty, Alamy) Familiarity with lifestyle and travel media trends Basic knowledge of Photoshop, Canva, or similar tools (for light adjustments and exports) Previous newsroom or media production experience

Why Join Us?
