The Directorate of Communications, Marketing and Student Recruitment\'s many responsibilities include the development and maintenance of the University website, and ensuring that the University\'s brand identity is applied consistently across its wider web presence and other channels.

The Directorate is offering an exciting opportunity for a Junior Web Developer to join its award-winning University Marketing Team on a full-time, permanent basis to boost its digital capabilities and increase web development capacity.

The successful candidate will support website activity in relation to the University\'s communications and marketing objectives, reporting to the Senior Web Developer. The role will incorporate both front- and back-end web development work to deliver user-centred solutions via the University\'s web content management system that are accessible, compliant with e-privacy regulations and optimised for search engines. It will also involve analysis and monitoring, including the use of Google Analytics to track website use and other tools to ensure that accessibility and e-privacy standards are maintained.

Candidates will have experience in a similar role, developing and maintaining responsive websites via content management systems using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, XML and JSON. They will have a good understanding of browser and platform compatibility, web accessibility and SEO best practices, plus experience using Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.

Candidates will possess the ability to work effectively in a team and independently, using initiative to solve problems, and to work under pressure across a range of projects to meet deadlines. They will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with a wide range of clients and stakeholders within the University.
