The role
Our busy estimating & design department is expanding and we are therefore looking to recruit a newly qualified or intermediate engineer to work on a variety of renewable design projects, including:
Solar PV (Rooftop, ground Mount & Car Ports)
EV Charging
Behind the Meter Energy Storage
You'll get to experience projects from conception to completion and will provide engineering inputs from initial assessment through to technical and economic feasibility, due diligence, construction monitoring and acceptance.
You'll also be reviewing and preparing technical and non-technical reports including specifications, proposals, designs, calculations and contracts. There will also be technical tender support, actively assisting with business development and client management.
The key aspects of the role will be:
Provide accurate pricing of projects working from design drawings and specifications
The use of software packages such as AutoCAD, REVIT, Sketch Up, PVSol and Adobe
Ensuring that all designs meet the technical, electrical and CDM regulations
Create designs including single line diagrams
Ability to creatively consider the cost reduction ideas and strategies.
Assist with preparing and submitting DNO applications
To provide support for commercial tenders and planning applications
Ensure the quality of the design meets company standards
To provide support to the Project
To prepare planning application drawings when required
Carry out site surveys to check project feasibility and take all relevant measurements and information in order to prepare the final build designs
Skills and Experience Required:
Keen to learn and work with the team
Skills and Experience Advantageous:
Knowledge of renewable energy
CAD experience
Construction & Engineering industry knowledge
Good IT skills with Microsoft Word and Excel
Knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT, Sketch Up, PVSol and Adobe
