Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of animals in our care while providing excellent customer service to pet owners. This position requires a love for animals, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

This is five days per week 8am - 5pm with one of those days being over the weekend.

Duties

Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising pets. Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas by performing regular cleaning tasks. Attention to detail a must. Monitor the health and behaviour of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff. Assist with the intake and discharge of animals, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed accurately. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' needs and wellbeing. Assist with heavy lifting when moving animals.

Qualifications

Previous experience in animal care or a similar role is preferred but not essential. Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with pet owners. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks associated with animal handling. A genuine passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing high-quality care. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining a clean and safe environment.
