Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the care and well-being of animals within our facility. This position requires a love for animals, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Kennel Assistant will ensure that all animals receive proper care, cleanliness, and attention while also providing excellent customer service to pet owners.

Duties

Provide daily care for animals, including feeding and grooming. Maintain cleanliness of kennels and surrounding areas by performing regular cleaning tasks. Monitor the health and behaviour of animals, reporting any concerns to the Kennel manager. Assist with the intake and discharge of pets, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed accurately. Engage with the kennel manager, providing updates on customers pets and addressing any questions or concerns. Support veterinary staff during examinations or treatments as needed. Perform heavy lifting when required, including moving animals or equipment safely.

Requirements

Previous experience in veterinary settings or animal care is highly desirable. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members. Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods. A genuine passion for animal welfare and a commitment to providing high-quality care. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
