About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and proactive

Kennels / Transport Officer (SC4) - Facilities & Environment

to ensure the health, welfare, and safe transport of dogs at the kennelling facility. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of animal care while supporting the smooth operation of the facility.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure all dogs at the kennelling facility are properly cared for and in good health. Clean and maintain kennels and associated areas to high hygiene standards. Provide suitable food, water, bedding, and exercise for all dogs. Monitor the health and wellbeing of dogs and liaise with veterinary services as required. Ensure appropriate sleeping and rest arrangements for all animals. Safely transport dogs as required for veterinary visits, adoptions, or other operational needs. Maintain accurate records of animal care, feeding, and medical treatments. Contribute to the overall smooth running of the kennelling facility and adhere to health and safety standards.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Essential Skills & Experience:

Experience in animal care, kennel management, or related facilities. Understanding of animal health, welfare, and handling requirements. Ability to safely handle and transport dogs of various sizes and temperaments. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable:

Previous experience in a similar kennelling or animal care role. Driving licence for transportation of animals.

Pre-Employment Requirements

Proof of Right to Work in the UK. Satisfactory employment references. Willingness to undertake relevant training as required.
