Key Account Manager - Forecourt, Convenience & Symbol Groups

Role Summary:
The Key Account Manager (KAM) will play a pivotal role in expanding the reach and visibility of our vaping brands across forecourt, convenience, and symbol group retailers. This is a development role suited to someone with field sales or junior account management experience, ready to take the next step in owning and growing regional and national retail group accounts.
Working at both store level and with key buyers at head office, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities to increase distribution, improve visibility, and drive sales through exceptional execution and account management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Account Management & Business Development
Manage and grow a portfolio of existing forecourt, convenience, and symbol group accounts, focusing on increasing product listings and in-store presence.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within aligned customer groups, targeting both head office and individual site decision-makers.
Build strong relationships with key buyers, regional managers, and franchisees to support product expansion and promotional opportunities.
2. Field Execution & Retail Engagement
Conduct regular visits to retail outlets across the UK, ensuring product availability, visibility, compliance with agreed planograms, and adherence to promotional activities.
Deliver best-in-class in-store execution, using data and insight to inform store-level decisions and action plans.
Act as a brand ambassador, training store teams and championing our product range.
3. Commercial Insight & Planning
Support the preparation and delivery of business reviews and account plans with key customers.
Work closely with internal stakeholders (supply chain, trade marketing, commercial) to ensure alignment and timely execution of initiatives.
Monitor performance metrics, distribution gaps, and competitor activity to identify areas for improvement or action.
4. Administrative & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of customer activity, visit reports, and sales pipeline updates (CRM).
Report on KPIs including distribution gains, compliance, promotional execution, and volume performance.
Prepare presentations and proposals for internal and external meetings.
Experience & Skills Required:
2+ years in a field sales or junior account management role, ideally within FMCG, tobacco, or vaping categories.
Experience engaging with forecourt or convenience retailers (e.g., Spar, Costcutter, Nisa, Londis, Bestway, independent groups, or petrol retailers).
Strong commercial acumen, with an understanding of how to drive ROI through visibility and availability.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at multiple levels (store staff, regional managers, and buyers).
Highly organised, self-motivated, and capable of working autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
Full UK driving licence required.
