Key Account Manager

to join our expanding commercial team at our Blockbusters premises.

Job Summary



We're seeking an experienced

Insurance Key Account Manager

(IKAM)

to oversee and nurture strategic client relationships within the insurance sector. The ideal candidate will combine deep knowledge of insurance market. You will be responsible for managing and nurturing a portfolio of our valued key accounts while identifying and developing new revenue streams for the business.

This is a client-facing role requiring strong relationship management, commercial acumen, and the ability to spot and convert opportunities that drive long-term value.

The successful candidate will act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring service excellence, retention, and growth.

Key Responsibilities



1. Manage and grow a portfolio of key accounts, serving as the primary point of contact for key clients--brokers, corporate clients, and MGA. Building long-term, trust-driven partnerships.

2. Manage retention, negotiate renewals, and expand services where possible within all markets.

3. Develop a deep understanding of each client's needs, challenges, and business objectives.

4. Execute strategic account plans, leveraging cross-sell and upsell opportunities to drive further growth within existing clients.

5. Develop bespoke value propositions and engage in strategies that support both revenue and client loyalty.

6. Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, market research, and proactive outreach. Manage bidding, negotiations, and strategic proposals.

7. Ensure SLAs and KPIs are met, driving client satisfaction and long-term partnerships.

8. Work closely with internal teams (operations, estimating, customer experience) to ensure seamless delivery of services.

9. Prepare account reviews, performance reports, and growth strategies for each client.

10. Support the wider commercial team in business development, targeting new sectors and accounts.

11. Represent the company at client meetings, networking events, and functions.

12. Monitor competitor activity and market trends to stay ahead of opportunities.

Skills & Experience Required



Minimum 3-5 years in insurance account management, claims handling, adjusting, or underwriting--preferably in the commercial sector Proven track record of managing strategic accounts and guiding complex claims or loss adjustments Deep understanding of insurance products, delegated authority channels (e.g., MGAs), and the UK general insurance landscape is highly desirable Strong track record of building and maintaining excellent client relationships. Commercially astute with the ability to identify and convert growth opportunities. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously. Self-motivated with a proactive and solution-focused approach. Full UK driving licence (client site visits required).

Desirable (but not essential):



Experience in client interaction, strategic account management, and claims advocacy. Familiarity with HubSpot CRM tools
