We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Nursery Nurse to join our outstanding team as a Keyworker, initially undertaking Cover for a term but with possible opportunities to undertake a permanent role in the future.
The role is for 36 hours per week within our Daycare 0-3 yrs provision, supporting individuals to learn and develop through our carefully developed curriculum. The successful candidate will be passionate about providing high quality care and education to young children and will have excellent communication skills to work as part of our friendly and experienced team.

Key Responsibilities:
To work as part of a team to create a supportive and stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environment
To support children's learning and development across all age groups, through child-led free flow play
To undertake observations of children's learning to support Keyworkers' knowledge of each child
To work in partnership with parents/carers to provide the best support for children's learning and care positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
Qualifications
Level 3 qualification in childcare or early childhood education

To provide consistent, high quality, integrated care and education for children aged 0 - 3 years in our 28 place Daycare provision.
To have Key Worker responsibility for a group of children aged 0 to 3 years
Section III. Core Duties
============================
Under the overall direction of the Senior Management Team and Lead Practitioner:
Work together as part of the Nursery School and Daycare staff team to execute the policies and action plans relevant to the Centre. In so doing:
+ Participate in the planning and creation of an environment in which each child's all round development is fostered.
+ Undertake a creative approach to providing appropriate learning activities to ensure that all children's learning needs are met in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
+ Involve yourself actively (where appropriate) with all children in their activities; stimulate, encourage and extend these explorations.
+ Maintain good order and discipline among the children to ensure their well being and safety (noting relevant policies including Health & Safety, Child Protection etc.).
+ Observe and assess the children's development.
+ According to the policy and procedure of the Children's Centre, record the attendance and progress of all children.
+ Collate and maintain accurate records of achievement for the children in your Key Worker group.
+ Work in partnership with parents and carers, recognising their crucial contribution to their child's well-being and development.
+ Provide a service that respects children's life experience and celebrates diversity in terms of language, ability, culture, race and religion.

Ensure the happiness and security of all children by providing high standards of integrated care and education.
Participate in planning the Orchard Room and Nursery School environment by:
+ Discussion of immediate issues.
+ Documenting daily plans and related evaluations.
+ Planning forward, contributing to assessments of professional practice in staff meeting In co-operation with the staff team, arrange (and keep attractive) the environment including appropriate displays.
Participate in the care and maintenance of the children's equipment.
Attend and participate in parents' meetings, workshops, in-service training, staff meetings and other professional development opportunities as appropriate.
With the support of the Senior Management Team and Lead Practitioner, liaise with other agencies (e.g. Social Services, Health Visitors) as necessary.
To be aware of and abide by relevant legislation, policies, procedures and standards required by Bognor Regis Nursery School & Children's Centre, LEA, Social Services and OFSTED,
Support students and work experience pupils, monitor their performance and discuss where appropriate.
To promote the Daycare Provision as a facility within the community.
To undertake any other tasks necessary to maintain the wellbeing of the children and ensure the smooth running of the nursery.
Have a responsibility towards safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Such other duties as may reasonably be expected of the post holder.
