HR and Payroll Specialist

1. THE ROLE



We are seeking an experienced and meticulous HR and Payroll Specialist to join our team. This is a critical HR-focused role, perfect for someone who excels at managing the entire employee lifecycle and ensuring full legal compliance. Your primary focus will be on nurturing our talent, mitigating employment-related risks, and championing our company culture. While you will also manage the company's payroll, this role is ideal for an HR professional dedicated to building a secure and positive employee experience from start to finish.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Human Resources

Oversee the entire employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding through to offboarding, ensuring a positive and legally compliant experience at every stage. Manage the full recruitment process, from drafting job adverts to creating a seamless and welcoming experience for new hires. Conduct and meticulously track all Right to Work checks, ensuring 100% compliance with Home Office legislatio Act as a trusted advisor, guiding on HR policies and procedures while confidently managing complex and sensitive employee relations issues such as disciplinaries and grievances. Develop and manage a compliant and professional offboarding process for all leavers, ensuring all exit administration is completed smoothly to prevent potential claims. Maintain accurate employee records in our HRIS and manage all HR administration, including contracts and changes to terms and conditions. Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.

Payroll Management

Manage and process the entire monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Handle the processing of new starters, leavers, and amendments to pay. Accurately calculate and process statutory payments, including SSP, SMP, SPP, and holiday pay. Administer the company pension scheme and ensure full compliance with HMRC regulations. Serve as the first point of contact for all payroll-related queries from employees.

3. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS



Experience

: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a combined HR and Payroll role is essential

Employee Lifecycle Expertise

: Proven experience managing the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment to exi

Knowledge

: Strong working knowledge of UK employment law, including Right to Work legislation, and payroll legislation. Experience in handling ACAS early conciliation and mitigating employment tribunal claims is highly advantageous.

Payroll Expertise

: Proven, hands-on experience managing end-to-end payroll processing is a mandatory requirement.

Industry Knowledge

: Experience within the food & beverage or hospitality industry is highly desirable.

Communication

: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.

Education

: CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) is prefer

Annual Salary : 40,000 - 55,000 per annum (candidates with strong payroll experience will be considered at the upper end of this range) Recruitment : Full-time
