The role of a Kingston Care Controller is to operate the central control alarm system on a rotation 24-hour shift basis to ensure that an efficient and professional response to the needs of users of the PNC lifeline system is maintained to enable them to maximise their independence in the community and remain in their own homes. To assist and support the service in the promotion, development, and installation of assistive technology products.



Holding IT skills to a level 1 RSA or word processing equivalent, having a appropriate NVQ2 qualification or working towards one or an equivalent and be literate and numerate are all essential requirements of the role.



Having experience in a call centre environment is desirable and you must be able to work days, nights, weekends and bank holidays when required



You must also have the following skills/experience/knowledge;


Customer contact either face to face or over the phone. Experience of providing services for older and/or vulnerable people. Excellent communication skills with the elderly and other vulnerable people and to respond in a caring, non-judgemental and sympathetic manner. Excellent time management skills. Ability to work as part of a team/on own initiative. Working knowledge of IT systems. Ability to evaluate emergency situations, staying calm and communicating effectively to resolve, at times, life threatening situations whilst remaining assertive. Ability to provide reassurance to vulnerable people who may be stressed and/or frightened. Ability to listen and deal with difficult situations where callers may become verbally aggressive. be able to write accurate and concise system records.
