Are you a dedicated and compassionate social worker looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families? Rotherham Council is seeking a Kinship Care Assessing Social Worker to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will assess and support kinship care arrangements, ensuring that children are placed in safe, nurturing environments that promote their well-being and development.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of kinship care placements, including background checks and home studies.
- Collaborating with families, children, and other professionals to develop tailored support plans.
- Providing ongoing support and guidance to kinship carers, ensuring they have the resources needed to succeed.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with local authority regulations.
- Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to care planning processes.
- A recognized social work qualification (Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Proven experience in child protection and family support, particularly in kinship care settings.
- Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound judgments in complex situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with families and stakeholders.
