We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. Duties

Assist with meal preparation by chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, and assembling dishes as directed by the head chef or cook. Support food preparation activities, ensuring that all items are ready for cooking and service. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen, adhering to all health regulations. Help with catering events by preparing and packing food items as required. Keep the kitchen area clean and organised, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow during busy service periods. Assist in inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting any shortages to the head chef.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is an advantage but not essential; enthusiasm for culinary arts is highly valued. Basic knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team. A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills related to meal preparation and catering. DBS needs to be on the update service

Pay: From 12.21 per hour
