Job Title:

Part-Time Kitchen Assistant & Nursery Lunchtime Cover

Nature's Little Learners is a warm, welcoming nursery dedicated to providing high-quality care and education for children. We are looking for a reliable and friendly Kitchen Assistant & Lunchtime Cover to join our supportive team.

The Role:

This part-time role combines supporting the nursery kitchen and assisting in the playrooms during lunchtime. You will help our Nursery Chef with food preparation, cleaning, and kitchen duties, as well as supervise and support children at lunchtime. First aid training will be provided to ensure children's safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Nursery Chef with food preparation, portioning, and kitchen cleaning. Prepare snacks and meals in line with the nursery menu and dietary requirements. Ensure safe food handling, storage, and hygiene standards are maintained. Assist in the nursery playrooms at lunchtime, supervising children and supporting staff. Promote healthy eating habits and good table manners at mealtimes. Become first aid trained to respond appropriately to minor incidents and ensure children's safety. Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a kitchen, catering, or food preparation role. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail. Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain). Good communication skills and a friendly, professional manner. Desirable: experience working with children, knowledge of dietary needs/allergies.
