Debden Retirement Village , based in Newport, Essex is currently seeking a Kitchen Assistant - Bank - Zero Hour Contract.


This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for ad hoc kitchen and who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, with a passion for food and making a difference in the lives of others.

Key Responsibilities:



Assisting in the preparation and serving of meals to residents. Washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and fruits. Assisting with dishwashing and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen. Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen surfaces, equipment, and storage areas. Helping to ensure the kitchen meets all food safety and hygiene standards. Stocking and organizing kitchen supplies. Supporting the cook and kitchen team as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:



Experience in a similar role in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety standards. Friendly and compassionate nature, especially when interacting with residents. Ability to stand for extended periods and carry out physical tasks.
