Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation and ensure that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This role is essential in maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness while supporting the chefs in meal preparation and catering services.

Duties

Assist with the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items. Support chefs during meal preparation by following instructions and recipes accurately. Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment promptly. Ensure that all food safety and hygiene standards are adhered to at all times. Help with the organisation of kitchen supplies and ingredients to ensure a well-stocked workspace. Participate in catering events as required, assisting with setup, service, and cleanup. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the kitchen supervisor immediately.

Skills

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key. Basic culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques. Understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene practices. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills to interact with team members effectively. Flexibility to assist in various tasks as needed within the kitchen setting.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 11.66-12.44 per hour
