We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. Duties

Assist with meal preparation and food preparation tasks as directed by the head chef or kitchen manager. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen workspace, including washing dishes and utensils, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly. Support the cooking staff during service by preparing ingredients and assisting with plating meals. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure that all food is handled and stored correctly. Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying supervisors of any shortages. Participate in catering events as required, ensuring that all food is presented beautifully and served efficiently. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; we welcome candidates eager to learn. Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards is highly desirable. Experience in catering or restaurant settings will be an advantage. Strong organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with colleagues. Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including evenings and weekends.
