We'd like you to join us as a Kitchen Assistant at the Kings Norton Hospital in Birmingham. The role is part time, 19 hours per week.


Kings Norton Hospital will is a 32 bedded purpose-built Male and Female Acute Mental Health Unit's providing a secure and safe, gender-specific environment for adults who have suffered an acute deterioration or relapse in their mental well-being. The hospital opened in December 2022.


We specialise in providing intensive and bespoke, individualised treatment plans working collaboratively with patients and their families or carers.

What you'll be working:



Working 2 days a week. 19 hours per week. Shift times 08:00am to 18:00pm

What you'll be doing:



To work closely with the catering team ensuring a high quality food service for the patients / service users and staff Key Accountabilities: Prepare and cook food to meet requirements of planned menus. Preparation of the staff restaurant and vending areas for service as required. Presentation and service of staff meals and beverages. Preparation and distribution of all function and hospitality work across the site. Assisting in the assembly and distribution of patient meals where required ensuring that temperatures of food are monitored and recorded. Operation of the dishwashing machine as required. Ensure all equipment used in the kitchen and dining room is clean and hygienic. Assist the Chef in preparing for special functions as required. Ensure any special dietary instructions are correctly followed.
