We are seeking an experienced Kitchen Assistant to join our small team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the store by assisting with food preparation, making sandwiches, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring adherence to food safety standards. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about food and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Assist in the preparation of ingredients for meals, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment and utensils are properly cleaned and stored. Follow food safety protocols to ensure all food is prepared and stored safely. Help with catering events by preparing meals according to specified menus and dietary requirements. Assist in inventory management by keeping track of stock levels and notifying supervisors of any shortages. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during busy service periods.

Requirements

Previous experience in a fast paced kitchen environment is essential. Basic knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques is advantageous. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in meal preparation tasks. Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as needed. The shifts would be both Saturday and Sunday mornings every week and possibly somr weekdays, please do not apply if you can't do every weekend.
