12.35 per hour

Contract:

Permanent, Full-Time

Hours:

35 hours per week

Shift Pattern:

08:00 - 18:00

3 days one week / 4 days the following week (rota basis)

We're looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join the catering team at The Mountains Care Home, a specialist dementia and mental health nursing home set in the beautiful Brecon Beacons.

This is a hands-on role supporting our Cook and helping ensure meals are prepared and served in a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen environment.

The Mountains is a 50-bed nursing home providing high-quality care for older adults living with dementia, Alzheimer's, and mental health conditions. Our home has a strong family atmosphere, supported by a committed and friendly team.

Your Role

As a Kitchen Assistant, you'll play an important part in the day-to-day running of the kitchen. Duties will include:

Supporting the Cook with day-to-day kitchen tasks Washing up, cleaning equipment, and maintaining kitchen hygiene Cleaning work surfaces, floors, and kitchen areas Assisting with basic food preparation as required Following food hygiene, infection control, and health & safety procedures Supporting the smooth running of meal services

What We're Looking For

? Reliable, punctual, and willing to help
? Able to work as part of a team and follow instructions
? Experience in a kitchen or care environment preferred but not essential
? Basic understanding of food hygiene and cleanliness (training provided)
? Positive attitude and good attention to detail
