Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of meals, ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained at all times. Help cooks with various tasks, including chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, and assembling dishes. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces. Support catering events by preparing food items as required and assisting with service. Follow instructions from chefs and kitchen staff to ensure timely meal delivery. Monitor stock levels of ingredients and report any shortages to the kitchen manager. Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.

Skills

Experience in meal preparation or a similar role within a restaurant or catering setting is an advantage. Knowledge of food safety standards and practices is essential. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy kitchen environment. A willingness to learn and develop culinary skills under the guidance of experienced cooks. Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. A passion for food and cooking, with an interest in culinary arts.
