Qualifications:
Basic Food Hygiene if preparing food.
Purpose of job:
To ensure that high standards of food preparation and food service are maintained in accordance with health, safety and hygiene requirements.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook food in safe hygienic manner.
Prepare and serve beverages.
Ensure that food for special diets is prepared accordingly.
Assist with the serving of meals in the dining room and/or on trays.
Assist with the clearing of dining tables/trays.
Check that all crockery and cutlery is clean and serviceable before use.
Carry out cleaning routines as required.
Ensure that all equipment is cleaned and put away after use.
Carry out all duties in accordance with health, safety and hygiene regulations, with particular reference to record keeping and documentation.
Ensure stock is rotated and perishable foods are not used past the use-by-date.
Ensure food is stored correctly and safely.
Report problems with equipment in accordance with the homes policy.
Be familiar with the homes policies and procedures, particularly those relating to catering issues.
Work as an effective team member and attend staff meetings and training as required.
Perform as required other related duties which contribute to the effective running of the home.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: 12.21 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
