About the Role



We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic

Kitchen Assistant

to join our team at

County Hall

. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of our catering service. You'll work as part of a friendly team to ensure meals are prepared and served to a high standard in a clean and safe environment.

Whether you have prior experience in catering or are eager to learn, this could be the perfect opportunity for you to gain valuable experience in a supportive setting.

Key Responsibilities



Assist with basic food preparation under supervision (e.g., peeling, chopping, plating). Serve food to staff and/or visitors during mealtimes. Wash dishes and clean kitchen equipment. Keep the kitchen and food preparation areas clean and hygienic. Follow food safety, health and hygiene regulations. Support kitchen staff and supervisors with general duties as needed.

Essential Requirements



A positive and proactive attitude with a willingness to learn. Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions. Good timekeeping and reliability. Understanding of basic hygiene and safety practices in a kitchen environment.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience



Previous experience working in a kitchen, cafe, school meals service, or similar setting. Food Hygiene Level 1 or 2 certificate (training can be provided if necessary). Knowledge of dietary requirements and allergen awareness.
