We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring that all food safety standards are adhered to. Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of meals, ensuring that all ingredients are ready for cooking.
Maintain a clean and organised kitchen workspace, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the highest standards of hygiene are maintained at all times.
Support chefs with catering events by preparing ingredients and assisting with meal presentation.
Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to kitchen management.
Participate in daily kitchen operations, including setting up workstations and cleaning up after service.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow during busy periods.
Skills
Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
Experience in catering or restaurant environments is advantageous but not mandatory.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting.
Basic culinary skills, including food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
A willingness to learn and develop new skills within the kitchen environment.
