Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. The Kitchen Assistant will play a vital part in meal preparation, assisting chefs, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations.

Duties

Assist with meal preparation and food assembly in accordance with established recipes and standards Support the catering team during events and daily service Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including work surfaces, utensils, and equipment Help with food safety procedures, including proper storage and handling of ingredients Serve food to customers or staff in a professional manner Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure efficient kitchen operation Assist with washing up, cleaning dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen tools Support the team in setting up and clearing down after service periods

Requirements

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is advantageous Basic cooking skills and familiarity with meal preparation are preferred Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Good organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately Willingness to learn new skills within the culinary field Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends or evenings if necessary
